You are invited to the first ever Spring Bash on April 3rd, 1998. This is it, the Big One, all of your friends from the Grey Area, meet them in person. The ones that you've flirted, bragged, lied *winked*, ((hugged)) and whispered to. The room recreated in Real Life. A no holds barred weekend long party. Complete with Lost Couch, Hot Tub and much more. Whether you want to have a few \~/ or just a |_|D, We're gonna have a blast. So plan to put in for vacation, send the kids to the sitters, whatever it takes to come be with us and have a blast. Be there or we'll [whisper] about you.
At this time we are planning on renting a room or banquet hall somewhere in the area of the hotel. Where exactly, were not sure yet but there are alot of options open. The akron area is about 2 hours from me and the company I work for has a branch office only blocks from the planned site of the bash, so as it gets closer to April, I'll have more and more details for you.
As of right now the date is set: April 3rd - 5th, 1998. The Place is the Akron Ramada Plaza Hotel. Room rates vary but depending on what you want, and the possibility of some people doubling up, they are reasonable.
We have had a really hard time planning this as an organization due to the fact that we are more closely a fellowship rather than an association. We are a collection of friends, that, for the most part, have never met one another, and as such its very difficult to plan and make it all come together. So, what we have done is simply break it down do this: A group of us from the Grey Area area getting together in Akron this april. anyone from here who would like to join us are very welcome.
The Bash is still the Bash, but we made some sacrifices to obtain some advantages. First as a group we were entitled to a few privileges that separate people were not, such as having the banquet room for free. But this meant that if we did not have at east fifty rooms rented we would have to pay for it. Secondly, all the rooms had to be reserved in advance. Which means that if any one person canceled then we would be stuck with a cancellation fee that was pretty significant. Imagine several people canceling and you get the picture.
As for who is coming; there are approximately 40 people that say they are coming for sure but that list has been constantly changing since it went up, so, I'm working on a new system of supplying that data to you.
